As many as 15 airline operators will operate 185 ATR72 aircraft and will have upgraded equipment from Meggitt. Currently about 65 aircraft have been already installed with heavy duty wheels and brakes with NuCarb carbon.
These upgraded enhancements will be offering increased gross take-off weight, and this will bring significant operating cost, reliability, and turnaround time improvements. NuCarb is the very latest carbon technology and in Danville, Kentucky, in one of the world’s most modern aerospace carbon brake manufacturing facilities.
The ability of ATR will be supported by Meggitt to provide General Maintenance Agreements (GMAs) to their operators of heavy duty brake of Meggitt.
